PS4 Pro & PS4 Slim announced

So.. nope, no big Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement made at the PlayStation Meeting, and nope no Remaster either.

The PlayStation Meeting event was to officially announce the PS4 Pro (previously known as PS4 Neo)  and the PS4 Slim.

I hate summarizing tech stuff so I'll just link you guys to it.. All the important info is here

I hear the haters getting riled up and I can say I understand them completely. Basically, we are getting a mid-gen console upgrade when the PS4 was supposedly 'the best console'. However, that's pretty much how technology is these days..

With 4K being the latest technology, the PS4 will need to catch up by providing 4K support and apparently only a new console is able to do that.

"All games will run in 1080p resolution, and some will even run in a higher or more stable framerate."

Question is.. are game developers going to push for that 60fps on consoles? Like a PC gamer friend of mine said.. "I'll take 1080p60 over 2160p30 any day".

And me? I always don't like to buy first-gen hardware. With the PSVR and now PS4 Pro all releasing this year, I would like to wait for the later batches of hardware which usually fix the issues that come with the first batch.

More importantly, I would like to see how the game support is for these, before throwing down my money.

PlayStation Asia celebrates PS Plus' 6th Anniversary with Exclusive PS4 Controller Holders

PlayStation Plus recently reached it's 6th anniversary and PlayStation Asia had some exclusive deals to celebrate.

One of it was the 6th Anniversary Memorable Pack, that included a 1-year PS Plus (Asia) Subscription and a PS4 Controller Holder that comes in 2 colours, black or white.

Had to get both!

Unboxing pics below..

Not sure if you can see it but there is a PlayStation Plus logo on the boxes.

Open up the box to retrieve up my PS Plus Card with the code.

The holder below..

Both colours..

Not bad eh?

and here's the updated PS4 Accessories Collection!

The 6th Anniversary Memorable Pack is sold at all PlayStation authorized dealers so go grab yours quick before they sell out!

I'm also selling away the 1-year PS Plus Subscription code at SGD$42 if anyone wants it. That's cheaper than retail and the PlayStation store. Just text me if you want it.

Trying out the YouTube LiveStream from PS4 - Evolve Kraken Lightning Strike Challenge

The latest PS4 Firmware 3.0 update brought some interesting features to the console.. and I wanted to try out the YouTube LiveStreaming feature.

Decided to LiveStream the Evolve Kraken Lightning Challenge, to help out in the community challenge..

As well as build up the hype for the Project TriForce's Kraken statue reveal! (And hopefully convince some friends to play Evolve with me)

Here's my video of the LiveStream.

Kinda rusty, playing as the Kraken.. so wasn't doing so well.. and dammit! Did they nerf the Banshee Mines?!

Anyway, thoughts about the LiveStream feature. This is my first ever LiveStream so there could be some 'obvious' stuff that I may or may not mention, so bear with me please.

There was a bit of lag time between the actual gameplay and the LiveStream (Say about 5-7 secs). Video Quality could be set to HD (720p) so that was pretty impressive. The video was also uploaded to my YouTube channel automatically, once the stream ended.

I must say.. The setup process was really easy. Considering it was my first time, I had to sign up and complete some verification but it was a very smooth process.

I have yet to try inviting people to my stream, but I am really curious to see how it works. Would also want to test the lag time, if it's consistent.

I'm not going to LiveStream full games and bore everyone.. I think there are plenty of YouTubers already doing that, who are much more entertaining.. But I'm looking at doing some streams with friends and some gaming communities.

GTA V Crew sessions will be fun to stream, once the crew moves over! If you guys have any suggestions or any game you would like to watch me play, just let me know. Would love to meet more gaming friends through this!

Personal Highlights from Tokyo Game Show 2015

Just some of the news from the Playstation Conference at Tokyo Game Show 2015 that caught my interest..

PS Vita New Colours

Different colours for the PS Vita will be released.. but once again, where are the games?! There's barely anything to play apart from the Japanese titles, which I'm not all interested in. :P

There was a rumour that the Assassin's Creed Chronicles games will be coming as a bundle to the PS Vita. I'm definitely hoping that will happen. Personally feel that side-scroller games are a lot more suited to the PS Vita.

Bloodborne

One of the games that I'm dying to play is Bloodborne. I was sold on this, in last year's GameStart Asia. But considering.. the difficulty level, though it would be better to put this on hold till I have finished some of my backlog.

New trailer for the Old Hunters Expansion Pack DLC (US Version)

Coming out on 24 Nov 2015, for US$19.99/€14.99/£11.99, the expansion will include new stages, weapons, magic & outfits.

Here's some gameplay of one of the new weapons.

There were actually 2 sets of DLC planned for Bloodborne, but they combined both in the end for a full-scale expansion. However, there isn't any plans, at the moment, for future DLC.

More details on the expansion in Eurogamer's interview with the Producer.

There will also be a Special Edition which will include both the Original game & the DLC.

Might be picking this one up!

For Honor

First saw this at E3 2015 and I was very excited for this. Combat looks excellent and if 'Art of Combat' plays as fun as it looks, it will be an amazing title. I have to admit, Creative Director Jason Vandenberghe's enthusiasm for the game is a huge seller.

But.. I'm worried about the longevity of the game. There's been several multiplayer games and I own quite a few. Within a month or two, no one's playing..

Even though the community is still alive, a lot of friends aren't playing anymore, and that just defeats the purpose. Can't really enjoy a multiplayer game if you are just playing with strangers eh?

Anyway, here's the TGS trailer featuring The Samurai faction's Oni.

I would love to get some hands-on time with this. Hopefully from the beta? (Oh yea, sign up for the beta if you haven't!).

More on For Honor and what is it about here.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

First look and details of the Season Pass were revealed, including Jack the Ripper DLC.

Woah.. it's coming isn't it? Just over a month left for it's release. Strongly hoping that this game will revive the franchise, after last year's AC Unity wasn't well-received.

Playstation VR

Project Morpheus gets it's official name and is now known as Playstation VR.

Ok.. I am very interested in checking this one out. Many years ago, it was quite obvious that Virtual Reality would one day come to gaming.. and I can't believe that time has already come.

Release is expected in the first half of 2016, so I'm hoping this will be available to try in this year's GameStart Asia 2015.

Playstation 4

Price drop for Playstation 4!
Great news for those planning to upgrade to the PS4.
My GTA crew members are planning to migrate over, so this will come as good news for them.

HDD Bay Covers

Change up your PS4 colours with these coloured bay covers. Great if you are bored with your Black & White consoles!

New Dualshock 4 Controllers

Cool! New colours for the PS4 controllers.

I already own the original black, a red one and most recently, the 20th anniversary edition.. More colours for the collection then!

Yup pretty much that's all from the Press Conference for me. I was quietly hoping for a Remastered collection of the Ninja Gaiden titles, but that was not to be. Ni-Oh looks interesting though.

20th Anniversary Edition Coloured PS4 Controller and Headset announced

The 20th Anniversary Edition Controller and Headset will be released individually sometime around September in US, Europe & Asia..

The Controller

And the "Gold" Wireless Headset..

Even the Playstation logo is of the original PSX logo. Pretty cool!

Guess this is the only way I can get my nostalgic fix since I missed out on the 20th anniversary PS4 Console..

PS4 Release in Singapore today!

Today's the Playstation 4 Official Release in Singapore!

I was out of town since early morning so when I checked my Facebook, after returning back, it was just flooded with PS4 release pics. And of course, many FB friends also posting their PS4 hoots!

Got to say, I'm a little envious but no regrets about not getting one for now. I'm still enjoying my PS3 games haha!

But a big congrats to all you guys who got the Playstation 4. Looks really great and I'm sure most of you are enjoying the awesome-ness at the moment. Do tell me how it is!
