Diablo 3 - Necromancer Class, Original Diablo in D3 and more Blizzcon updates!

It's been a while since I played Diablo 3. With my PC crashing and my laptop barely able to support the game, last I touched D3 was when I had to rush through Season 6 just for the rewards. Subsequently, missed out on Season 7 and I thought I was pretty much done with the game.

However, it seems like I will be getting back, with all the latest Blizzcon 2016 news!

The Return of the Necromancer!

The Necromancer will be a new playable class in Diablo 3, sometime in 2017.

The Necromancer was my favourite class in Diablo 2 and I'm really stoked to see his return, although I'm a bit skeptical.

I love summoner classes and I have been playing the Witch Doctor class in D3 mostly so I'm a bit worried the game-play is going to be too similar. Blizzard is aware of this and they are doing their best to differentiate the characters and I hope they pull it off.

Here's some Q&A details about the new class..

The Original Diablo in Diablo 3

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the original Diablo game and Blizzard will be celebrating it with a special D3 event where players can play the original game re-created in Diablo 3's adventure mode.

Diablo 1 was my first-ever proper game on my first PC. Unlike the lucky kids these days, I got my first-ever PC only when I was 13 and was allowed to choose only 1 game. Looking through all the different titles, and without the luxury of reviews, it was a tough decision but this game caught my eye.

The parents were not too encouraging of a game which dealt with demons and sorcery, but were open-minded enough to let me 'kill demons', after much convincing..

It will be great to re-visit this game and definitely sweet memories of my first-ever dungeon-crawling and loot-hunting adventures! Can't wait for this!

The Armory

Armory will be a new feature in Diablo 3 coming in 2017. Basically, it will be a different type of stash that allows you to save up to 5 loadouts, which includes skills, passives, items & more! Definitely a cool feature for those who need to switch load-outs regularly.

Might not be going back to D3 in full swing but will definitely want to try out these new content in 2017. Hopefully, I will be able to afford a PC by then!

NECA's Diablo 3 Figure

Got this recently..

The Diablo figure from Diablo 3 made by NECA.

Comes with a base stand..

The figure is pretty steady once you attack the tail but the base stand does help if you intend to pose him.

Here's more pics..

The tail can be bent to your liking..

Pretty cool figure and the price is similar to other NECA figures even though this figure is much bigger..

I believe this has been selling very well that NECA has decided to another Diablo figure. Unfortunately, it's just a repaint..

Well... technically this Shadow Clone variant did feature in the game during the battle with Diablo so I'll be getting it as well.

I'm definitely hoping to see more figures from the Diablo license.. Malthael, Belial, Azmodan, The Butcher but considering NECA's pattern, I won't be counting on it. A real pity though.. The Diablo characters have so much detail and presence to them, I'm sure there are many collectors dying to see them in figure form. I can only dream..

Anyway.. here are some flavoured shots of the Lord of Terror, Diablo..

If you are looking for this Diablo figure in Singapore, my friend is selling these at SGD$32 each.

Internationally, Entertainment Earth has this and the Shadow variant that will be releasing in September.. Check out the image links below..

Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls Launch Event and my Goodie Bags

Alright, so I went down to the Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls Launch Event for Singapore over at Shaw House earlier today.

Some of you would know that you guys helped me win some Goodies!

2 Goodie Bags!

Each bag contained a Funko Pop Figurine

1 of Diablo..

and 1 of Tyrael..
These are my first ever Funko Pop figurines.. Never got into collecting these but maybe these could be the start? Not really my taste but they look pretty cool, especially if you have several of them.

I'll take more pics of these figures in the next few days.

Also included in each bag was a Gachapon figure

Little balls..

I thought I was supposed to open these to find a little figure inside but..

These balls actually turrn out to be..

Their heads! So, actually the body was inside the ball. You had to open it into 2 parts and then fix it back again onto the body. Interesting!

Don't think I have ever heard of or seen these figures before. I wonder if there are other characters made in this style. A quick google search brought up images of all kinds of weird Japanese toys but no ball-headed figures.. Hmm..

Anyway... There were T-Shirts in the bag too!

Gave 1 to my brother! Shirt quality's pretty decent but I don't think I will be wearing these out.

Last but not the least.. A discount voucher!

There is a 15% voucher in it but it's only limited to certain Dell XPS Series and Alienware Series products. I actually plan to invest in a new gaming rig for my new house but sadly the voucher is valid only until 30 April 2014. Too bad..

For attending the Launch Event, I also got a Poster and a Lanyward with the Event Schedule.

I'm not sure if I was supposed to tear off the stubs at the bottom for the Lucky Draw. I only realised that when the Lucky Draw started and they were drawing similar looking stubs.

If I was indeed supposed to enter those into the Lucky Draw, then I would like to say a big Thank you to the folks at the registration counter. You guys were so helpful in letting me know that I was supposed to enter my stubs for the Lucky Draw. (Insert Sarcasm).

I have heard a lot of complaints about the way Asiasoft handles their Launch Events but this is the first time I have experienced it.  I had to ask 3-4 people before they realised that I was there to collect my prize. There are a couple more things but I'll refrain from turning this into a bashing post.

On a more positive note, Michael Chu, the Senior Game Designer at Blizzard was there to answer a few questions, including how much he loved Pizza!

The cosplayers..

I'm not very familiar with the cosplay scene but I think I have seen the lady in the last pic at STGCC 2013.. I might be wrong.

Michael Chu also did some autographs but unfortunately I had to rush off. :(

Anyway, all the goodies again..

Ahh yes.. There was also a bottle of Mountain Dew but I gulped in down soon after I came home. What a hot day!

I'll post more pics of the figures and of course.. The Reaper of Souls' Collector's Edition in the next few days.

Once again, thanks to you guys for helping me get these goodies!

Thanks again lots guys! I will post pics up of the prizes later today!

ToyFair 2014 NECA figure pics

I already showed you pics of McFarlane's Assassin's Creed figures from ToyFair 2014.. And I was hoping to share lots more from the other Toy companies but it has been a disappointing search.

NECA, one of my other favourite companies for Video Game Action Figures have been turning away from my favourite licenses and moving towards Movies, Marvel and DC. They still had some Video Game figures on display but not the ones I was looking for..

They lost the Assassin's Creed license sometime back. Borderlands 2 figures are missing from their line-up.

Their Bioshock Infinite figures are still going strong though..

They also had some Team Fortress figures on display..

However, the only thing that interests me from their figures was the previously announced and shown Diablo 3 figure..

Looks good for an action figure.. Already have this on pre-order so can't wait to get this in-hand. It should be out in late March I think..

Can't think of anything else worth buying.. oh wait.. they had pics of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie figures. Interesting I would say.. Quite disappointed with the rest of the ToyFair, nothing else really got me excited.

All credit goes to Toynewsi and Toyark for the pics.
