Looking forward to E3 2014!

It's finally here, the greatest gaming event of the year!

So pumped up for the event, even though I'm dead tired. Over here in Singapore, it starts in the wee hours of the morning. So I can get a good rest before I start my E3. Will be skipping the Microsoft Press Conference. EA also seems to have lost me over the years so I'll get the news from the reports if I can't wake up for it. (Gone are the days when I can sit up all night long, without having to worry about work the next day)

Ubisoft's Conference is the one I'll be looking out for. That starts at 6am and lasts for an hour I think.. So just enough time to get ready for work and hopefully I'll be at work in time for the Sony Press Conference. Obviously, I'm very interested to see what Sony has to offer.

Ubisoft Press Conference

Assassin's Creed Unity - Undoubtedly, the big one for Ubisoft this year. Can't wait to get more concrete info on the character, plot and the highly-anticipated multiplayer.

With Assassin's Creed, there will be CEs. I'm expecting them to be revealed alongside the game's reveal.

Assassin's Creed Comet - While AC Unity has had plenty of leaks, hints and rumours, the other AC game for this year has been surprisingly quiet. How much importance this game will get, remains to be seen. Will be a surprise if it's a no-show at E3.

Far Cry 4 - I have never played the Far Cry games before, but watching the game-play and the unexpected success of Far Cry Blood Dragon has given me more interest in this series. I already have Far Cry 3, so it just might be pushed high up my priority list of backlog games after the reveal of Far Cry 4.

The Crew - Still not totally sold on this yet.. concept is interesting but I don't really need too many driving games.

Tom Clancy's The Division - Haven't really been following this game after last year's reveal.

Sony's Press Conference

God of War 4? - A supposed leaked schedule shows a "Gof of War 4". Kinda fatigued from the franchise but we will see how it goes.

Uncharted 4? - Another franchise that I surprisingly have never tried before.. Maybe this might change it?

Infamous Second Son DLC? - Also spotted in the leaked schedule was some DLC for Infamous Second Son, perhaps a story mode?

The Rest

Evolve - One of the very few new IPs that I'm very interested in. Tried out the game in the exclusive Asia Preview event and I can say I'm very impressed and looking forward to it's release. 

Let's see what details E3 brings..

Mortal Kombat X - Until it's announcement, Evolve and AC Unity were my most anticipated games for this year's E3 but now I just can't wait for more details on this game. 

More or less, I think I know what I can expect from the other 2 games, but this is the one that can spring a lot of surprises.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - Just like you can never have enough guns, you can never have enough loot-hunting. The plot usually baffles me in the Borderlands games, so just looking forward to more details on the classes.

Hopefully..

Prince of Persia - I have said it and I'll say it again. This is one of my all-time favourite franchises. So-much-so that I will gladly trade a year of No Assassin's Creed for a Prince of Persia game. Will be a good decision to put a PoP game early in the curren-gen cycle. It's been a long wait, please Ubisoft..

Army of Two - I was thinking hard on what EA could offer, that would interest me and up pops Army of Two. This series never had stunning reviews or sales but I haven't heard anything about cancelling any future Army of Two games. It's been a while since the last one, so could it be time for a new one? Always had fun with these.

Grand Theft Auto (PS Vita game) - There's been rumours of a GTA Stories in development. A DLC for GTA Online or a PS Vita game?

Either way, Rockstar Games won't be at E3, so any announcement would probably be during Sony's Press Conference.

Bully 2 - Oh yea.. another Rockstar Game that has some rumours flying around, could there be an announcement to continue Rockstar's yearly AAA title.

And these are the list of games that I'm looking forward to and the ones I hope to hear. Also hoping to have some new IP catch my eye and some exclusive Vita games that I can load up on the go.

PlayArts Edward Kenway and Connor Figures Production Photos out!

Found some pics of Production Samples of the PlayArts Assassin's Creed figures..

So what do you guys think? Costume Details on the figures are great. No question about that. Just hope I don't get a bad figure like the other time.. but I pre-ordered with a reliable local store this time round, so they should be able to cover me if anything goes wrong..

But the face sculpt.. PlayArts just seem to find a way to make them look like Anime characters. The rest of the figure looks too good to pass up on these though, so thankfully these Assassins come with hoods so hopefully that will do the trick!

AC Unity Figurine and Wrist Blade Revealed?

Just a couple more days for the big reveal of Assassin's Creed Unity at E3 2014 and the merch have started popping up.. Or at least I think they are?

This could very well be the AC Unity's figurine from UbiCollectibles..

That's without a doubt the same Assassin that we have seen in the official teasers.

Whether it will be a stand-alone figure from UbiCollectibles or part of the Collector's Edition remains to be seen. Some collectors are already predicting that it looks like it's part of a diorama similar to the Kenway-BlackBeard diorama from AC IV.

Or perhaps a huge diorama featuring 4 characters?

This banner from E3 shows 4 characters, further strengthening my predictions that AC Unity will feature several Assassins working together..

Mortal Kombat X - Details, Rumours and my Wants!

After the release of the Mortal Kombat X teaser trailer, there hasn't been any more concrete info on what we can expect from the upcoming 2015 game.

However, there has been a couple of hints and clues that have been given out after the trailer.

First was the press statement.. Here's the important part..

"Mortal Kombat X combines cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever, offering a new fully-connected experience that launches players into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy. For the first time, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style. Players step into an original story showcasing some of the game’s most prolific characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil and tie the tale together."

Persistent Online Content - I'm not very convinced about this. I remember MK9 had the same promise about a great online feature but I saw plenty of complaints about connectivity etc.

Add to the fact that, as much as I love Mortal Kombat, I just suck at it and I'm just not good enough to be challenging the Pros online.

If the online system is fun and stable, it will be something to look forward to nevertheless.

Multiple Variations of each Character - Looks like there's going to be several options for each character and this actually could make sense on who that SubZero is in the trailer. More on this later..

So you have different fighting styles for each character, similar to what we had in MK Armageddon.

New challengers that tie the tale together - New challengers since MK9 or totally new characters never seen before? I would definitely love to see some new brand new characters but I'm also looking forward to see some characters from the MK Universe.

These are some characters that I want to see, make a re-appearance in Mortal Kombat X..

Havik

I love this character's design.. the Cleric of Chaos. He will probably get a re-design in any new game but if they keep his base look, he will still be one of my favourite characters. Hoping to see him return in MKX. Especially, with the excellent story modes that NetherRealm Studios incorporate into their recent fighting games, I'm looking forward to get to know more of his backstory.

Frost

Lady Sub Zero! With Bi-Han dead and now as Noob Saibot and Kuai-Lang turned into a Cyborg Sub Zero, could Frost take the front as the leading Cyromancer?

Meat

Crazy looking character! He will be a fun one!

Bo' Rai Cho

When I first saw this guy in MK Armageddon, I thought he was a complete joke. Always drunk and seemingly so clumsy. But this Outworld Master was the one who trained Liu Kang and subsequently Kung Lao. 

Would love to see him make a re-appearance with more character development.

Moloch and Drahmin

 

If you haven't noticed, I like the 'creatures' rather than the normal humans.

With MK9's ending putting Shinnok and Quan Chi in the light, it looks likely that Earthrealm will now face a new threat from Netherrealm, these two Oni might be crucial to the plot.

Motaro

Big Bad Motaro, he died in MK9 after a very brief appearance but this fan favourite is too popular to kill off so soon. Making him a playable character will be a challenge but he has to come back at least in the story mode.

Chameleon

Probably the last of the ninjas that haven't made an appearance in MK9, I want to see him feature in MKX.

Onaga

Oh man.. I can't describe how much I want to see him back. My all-time favourite Boss, i just love him as a character. The Ultimate Bad Ass of Mortal Kombat. To think that Shao Kahn once served him, just shows how much of a Bad Ass this guy is. 

The expectation is that Mortal Kombat will follow the events of MK4 and a couple of games after that. Depends on how far they stretch the story, Onaga may or not make an appearance but I'm really crossing my fingers that he comes back. 

However, if they really want to develop the story, Shinnok and Quan Chi has to be the main focus this time round. Hopefully, I don't have to wait too long for the following Mortal Kombat game.

But if he does make an appearance, I'm gonna do 1 up by wishing for a Pop Culture Shock Collectibles' Statue of him. Too much?

Ed Boon has also been giving hints and clues on what we can expect at E3 and Mortal Kombat X altogether, and these 2 tweets found at Mortal Kombat Online have been particularly exciting..

There's going to be new fighters as mentioned earlier and the story will 'sort of continue' from MK9, which means several of the dead characters may or may not appear in Mortal Kombat X. While it's a pity that some characters are going to miss the cut, I think it's reasonable to say that they will not be re-appearing in the story mode. However, there are some characters that I just can't live without. Well, they could always be playable characters in the Ladder Mode.

But.. 

I can't find the post now but someone on the Mortal Kombat Online forums mentioned that the story mode could be featuring Time-Travel.. which will explain..

1) Why Sub Zero is back alive in the trailer, in what looks like he's human again. 

So what we saw in the first trailer could be one of the Sub Zeros before he died fighting against a present Scorpion? Or of course, it could be a new Cyromancer altogether taking on the Sub Zero mantle.

 2) Why we will see different variations of each character as mentioned in the Press Release. Sub Zero in the present will have 1 fighting style, while Sub Zero in the past has another fighting style?

3) The time-travelling/alternate timeline thing has already been featured in MK9 with Raiden sending a message to his former self to stop the events leading to Armageddon. While Shao Kahn is dead, there's still a lot of unfortunate events that happened, could the current Raiden send another message back to try and change things around again?

Time-travelling/Alternate timelines seem to be the in-thing nowadays with Injustice: Gods among us featuring it and X-Men: Days of Future Past so popular.

It could make for a very compelling story, but could also be super-confusing. Just hope they do it right, if they are going down this line.

Anyway, it's just less than a week away to E3, can't wait to hear more details on Mortal Kombat X.. Who's next?

Marvel Heroes Diary: Jun 4 2014 - 1st Year Anniversary teasers!

1st Year Anniversary teasers!

Happy 1st Year Anniversary Marvel Heroes! 

Today's patch will be adding a whole load of new content as well as new gifts, as well as launch a new year for Marvel Heroes dubbed, 'Marvel Heroes 2015'

There's going to be Login Rewards, 365 Random Gifts, Silver Surfer as new playable hero, Achievements to unlock. 

Then there's the Surtur Raid Event for 10 players. Surtur was the fire demon that was teased at the end of the Story mode, after beating Loki. Check out the FAQ here.

A new Omega System for progression above Level 60. FAQ here.

and of course a lot more..

After a slow start and not-so-great reviews in the first few months, Marvel Heroes have come a long way, especially since late last year... and they don't seem to be slowing down. The next year has epic promises and it's going to be real fun.

Thankfully, I have my Colossus all ready for the new end-game content. Hoping to get Taskmaster up-to-par so I have more hero options for the end-game stuff.

Just under 100 Odin Marks away from getting 4 Blessings for him. No luck however with the rarer runes but he should be good enough for now, I hope.

First try at exchanging 4 Uniques for a Set of Relics.

Using this Relics for Gambit so that wasn't too bad. Gonna keep doing this to max out the Relics faster.

WatchDogs USB Hub and Card Reader

Just some pics of the USB Hub and Card Reader that was given out as a pre-order bonus for WatchDogs in some Asian countries.

Comes in a little black box..

The USB Hub and Card Reader..

Comes with 3 USB Ports and several Memory Card Slots.

I don't have all the different Cards but I tried the USB ports and the SD Card slots, and all worked perfectly fine. Detection rate was also very fast.

Mortal Kombat X Confirmed!

No surprise here! The hints were pretty straightforward but I am happy! It's been a long wait for the next Mortal Kombat game..

So many questions.. Will it be a fighting game like MK9 with a storyline? Will they continue the modern storyline? What's to be of Cyber-SubZero? Will Onaga feature in this game?

I hope I don't have to wait until E3 to get more info..

I have always been a fan of Mortal Kombat but with the recent Mortal Kombat Statues and Figures hitting the market, it has brought the franchise to a whole new level.

Oh wait.. as I'm typing this out. The trailer just got revealed!!!



What's with the music?! Just doesn't suit the game..

Scorpion's new design looks to be inspired by Jim Lee's design of Scorpion in Injustice: Gods Among Us, just a little toned down.

Subzero.. Not really sure if he's human or cyborg? There's quite a bit of explaining to do if he is one of the 2 brothers. Or maybe he's a totally new SubZero?

Gameplay shows plenty of use of the environment, which will be interesting. X-Ray moves also should be returning.

Great stuff! I want more news before E3!! 2015 is going to be a long wait..
