Preparing for the new year with my new display!

A few weeks back, I posted an update about changes being made to the blog, but yes there hasn't been anything yet. Not that I gave up on the idea but I have been very busy during the festive holiday period. I'm working on the changes though so you will see them coming up very soon.

New shelves came in a while back.

and earlier today I started working on filling them up..

This was the task..

I have to say.. My parents have been very supportive of my collection habit and rather patient with the mess I left behind, when I moved out in July this year.
That's not to say.. they have not been whining about when I am going to clear the mess!

So, big thanks to them and a thank you to my wife as well for taking care of the kid while I cleared this mess.

It wasn't as bad as it first looked. The mess I created just gave my parents and my brother an excuse to use the room as a store room and half the stuff in there are actually their 'junk'.

Anyway.. couple of hours later..

It was tiring but fun. There's a couple of collectibles in there that I almost forgot that I owned. No easy task though. Thought I could arrange everything by today but I am happy with the progress.

90% of the shipping cartons have been thrown away and most of the collectibles have been moved to their respective shelves.

Of course, some of the bigger statues won't fit into these shelves so they will remain out for now. I should be able to squeeze in the 1/4 scale Mortal Kombat Ninjas once I have arranged the rest. There's still the AC Unity stuff that I haven't moved over so it might be a tight squeeze for now.

Spent a bit too much time, trying to figure out the AC Collection layout. That is the bulk of the collection so I have to work that display out first before fitting the rest in. The MK Ninjas will be at the bottom as those are pretty heavy.

If you know my collection, you would have realised, that the original display shelf isn't even in the picture. A lot of the AC figures need to be moved in to these shelves. Still some way to go..

Top left.. the AC IV collection.. not entirely complete but the 3 Edward Kenway statues are in there.

and the Diablo collection..

Don't think I have anymore Diablo stuff so that's the 2 NECA figures and the Diablo skull with the soulstone.

That's all for now.. Will update again when I make have time to work on the display again.

Those Statue Shipper Boxes do come in handy...

Being a Statue Collector means I have plenty of those brown shipper boxes lying around the house.. A total waste of space most of the time but with a bit of creativity.. I put them to good use..

A home-made fireplace!

Still needs a little more work but it looks good enough!

GTA Online Heists are fucking finally coming!!!

How many times have I said this over the past two years? Each and every time we heard that heists are finally coming.. it ends up in disappointment.

But this time, it really looks like it's coming.. Still no official release date but it's expected in early 2015.. Ok, ok I know it's still so vague and you are probably frustrated but we finally have some concrete details which makes me feel, it's for real this time.

Before you check out the article by IGN, check out this awesome trailer directed at you. Yes, you.. just check out the first 10 seconds and you will know what I mean..

Oh Hell Yea!!!

First part of the article is all about excuses on why the Heists have taken so long to be ready (But all I can say is that they had to wait for the PC release).. Anyway, whatever the reason.. It's good to finally get some concrete details. Check out this part from the IGN article..

"IGN: How does a heist work exactly?

IMRAN: Each heist requires 4 players all at rank 12 or above, with one player as the designated heist leader. Leading a heist requires owning a high-end apartment so that you have a room available to set up the planning board. From there you’ll be able to launch missions as the leader, starting with the prep work and building up to the score itself.

Being a heist leader has advantages and disadvantages. On the upside, Lester contacts the leader directly when there’s news of a job and it’s up to the leader to invite players into the crew, assign positions, pick outfits and allocate each player’s cut. On the other hand, the heist leader will need to personally front the set-up costs in order to successfully pull off the heist.

..."

So far, the heists seem to be only 4-player co-op so don't expect to bring your whole crew for a bank heist.

Just hoping the wait will be worth it. Either way, it's back to San Andreas!

Excited for Hell Divers again!

It's been a while since I heard anything from this game but this article by IGN just got me excited all over again!

I enjoy top-down shooters.. having played Zombie Apocalypse and Dead Nation previously. There's something weirdly fun about spinning 360 degrees around trying to survive hordes of creatures coming at you..

But, based on the article, Hell Divers is going to be a lot tougher than that.

The cool thing is that the game is going to be cross-buy & cross-play among all 3 Playstation platforms, including the Vita so I'm definitely looking to pick this up.

Who's diving into hell with me?

A long awaited wish finally comes true!

Ever since it was revealed that Ubisoft Singapore was the main studio behind Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, I had one wish..

To get something signed by the developers at Ubisoft Singapore.

However, as the months passed, it seemed less and less likely that it will ever happen...

Until Thursday... I was 1 of the selected few who was shortlisted for a playtest at the studio... Sure, I was excited about getting a chance to get my hands on something that hasn't been released yet.. But I had 1 purpose in my mind. To fulfill that year-long dream which is to get something signed.

I wasn't confident of my chances.. people who had gone for Playtests at the studio before said that you won't get a chance to meet the developers but I wasn't going to give it up without a try..

So I headed down to the studio with my AC IV poster..

What happened at the Playtest I can't say.. I signed a NDA so let's just leave it at that..

I asked the Playtest coordinators to help me out with it and they seemed a little hesitant at first because the developers were very busy with projects but they try and.. Thanks a whole lot to them and they got it signed!

Love the personalised messages, fantastic stuff! I was only told that the Lead Designer from the AC IV team will be signing it so was very happy to see more of the team signing it as well.

It was a pity I couldn't meet them but I would really love to say a huge thanks to all those who took the time to helping me fulfill my dream. It was just a few minutes but I truly know how even a few minutes can be a huge disruption, when you are rushing to beat deadlines. So, I truly appreciate that gesture for just another crazy fan.

I can now die happy..

The Order: 1886 CEs up close

Excited for the Collector's Editions of The Order: 1886?

Not really?

You should be,, Those images of the statues don't do it justice. Check out this video below from IGN over at the Playstation Experience 2014 event.

Amazing! The realism of the statues are just stunning. The blood effect on the Werewolf is perfectly done, and the glossy effect makes it look like it's still wet. Very realistic.

Look at the size of that statue from the Premium Edition. No wonder it's a lot more expensive than the Collector's Edition. I still think the Collector's Edition with a 7 inch Galahad statue is a steal at US$79.99 so if you don't have space for the larger Premium Edition, you should get this.

Me.. I'll get both!

There's also a promotion where you get $10 PS Store Credit if you use PayPal to add funds to your PSN Wallet. Promotion only lasts this week so check out all the details here.

This promotion might not be eligible for those outside of the US however.

Happy Holiday shopping!

New Updates coming to the Blog for 2015!

2014 is drawing to a close and 2015 is coming.. (Wow! As if  you didn't know..) And I'm planning to do some new changes to the blog, gonna revamp some stuff, add new features etc.. starting with my name.

As some of you know, my real name isn't Juan Veron. I chose that as my Facebook account name, based on my favourite football/soccer player, Juan Sebastian Veron.

A legend! (Shut up Man Utd fans.. I'm a Man Utd fan too)

I initially started up an extra FB account to play some of the football games on Facebook, hence the football name. I gradually started using the account to follow gaming stuff and it has become what it is now over the years.

Some of you already know my real name, which I really don't mind sharing to people I know. I just don't want to publicize it or use it on my blog for various reasons.

So, to get away from the football tag, I would like to 'officially' change my online moniker to Dr Jengo. *eerie silence*
Yes, my PSN ID is Jengoboy, which was created many years ago and now that I have grown up, I have now graduated with a Doctorate in 'blogging and spending my entire free time on games, games and nothing but games'. So henceforth, you can call me Dr Jengo, Jengo, Jengoboy, Doc.. whatever suits your fancy.

Hi, I'm Mr Creepy Guy..
So, with that.. the blog name will also be changed to Dr Jengo's World along with my FB profile, Google profile etc. I still haven't tested if all the transitions can be done smoothly.. which I hope it does as I don't want to create a new account for everything.

YouTube Channel

With the PS4's capability to capture vids, I will need a place to upload my vids.

I have no plans to start doing walkthroughs or full gameplay vids so the channel will be used to share just random vids I capture on PS4 and maybe some collection stuff, at least for now.

About Me

Read through the About Me section in the blog and I didn't think it was well-written. Kinda rushed through it when I first started the blog, just to have it up there. So, I'm gonna redo it.

I was thinking of doing a FAQ-style introduction rather than paragraphs of words so here is where I really need your help as friends. Do post any serious/weird questions in the comments below and if they fit, I will add them to my About Me section. Or else I have to think up of questions to ask myself.. which will be really weird.

So here's your chance to get to know me better, ask me anything!

Facebook Page

Also planning to create a FB page for my blog where I will share my blog updates. I'm currently sharing links from my FB account which I wanna change. So the FB page will be for blog updates and my profile account will be just for sharing other site links and commenting like a real person.

I enjoy talking to you guys each time I have an update so I'm hoping this new system will not affect that. It's just a page so hope you guys don't feel disconnected because of that. I love the comments and just chatting with all friends on every update, so let's keep it going.

My Collection

Another major pet peeve is the way my Collection page is set up. Currently, you need to click on the tab and then a link to Photobucket, which brings you to a slideshow. Not really feeling it. Doesn't seem like a lot of people are clicking on it either based on the blog stats.

I came up with a new idea on how to set it up, so hopefully that will work better than it currently is. Besides, with new shelves coming in, I think I really should be doing new pics of my collection.

It's going to be a lot of work but I'm excited with the new plan where I share with you the updated collection and comment on what it means to me now.

Hmm.. what else? I will need a new website banner as the blog undergoes it's revamp... can't think of anything else right now, other than some minor changes here and there.

Oh yea.. also going to partner with another group of Gamers to bring more content to the blog. We are still in early discussions, so will update as I know more.

As I have mentioned, I have always enjoyed blogging about games & my collection even though it can be tiring at times, and it gets in the way of actually gaming. But, the friends I have made over the years have made it all a very enjoyable experience.

It's been great to share all those thoughts to you guys, receiving your comments and of course, playing with a lot of you as well. It's been fun and I hope it continues for a long time.

Don't forget.. throw me some questions for the About Me section, would really help!
