GTA V Story DLC - Coming or not coming?

A long, long time ago.. Back in Dec 2013.. 

Rockstar Games said that there will be more Story DLC for GTA V..

"GTAV Story Mode Updates. For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas."

in this article..

and then again in April 2014 in another article..

"And later this year, look for even more additions to both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, including more holiday-themed updates, some very exciting Story Mode DLC and much more."

Fast forward to present day.. During a Take Two earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick claims that there was no Story DLC planned, but there will be more content coming for GTA Online.

What??!! 

I started digging up my old blog posts to look for the articles and found those 2 links clearly stating that there was Story DLC planned..

And it looks like Strauss Zelnick might have forgotten about it.. Can't blame him, that was ages ago..

Moreover, there's an update today from a Take-Two rep stating: 

"Strauss misspoke during today's call, as over a year ago Rockstar Games had said that they were exploring story mode content for Grand Theft Auto V; however, no further information has been released since. As always, we leave it to Rockstar Games to share information about their games when they're ready."

Phew! Guess we have to wait a while longer for an update from Rockstar Games themselves..

Speaking of DLC.. what happened to that Alien DLC rumour?

Free Comic Book Day 2015!

Oh yea.. went for the FCBD 2015 a few weeks back!

My first time attending it ever. Never knew our local comic stores do give out the free comic issues as well. As the Singaporean saying goes.. "Free, must take!"

Thankfully, Leon was also interested in getting some free comics. So, I had some company as I didn't know how this works. And of course, with his wide comic book knowledge, it was great company to have!

Leon was a member at Invasion! Toys & Collectibles but they were only opening later. I had to pick up some of my orders at Absolute Comics, so we decided to head there first. 

Free comics were great no matter what they were, but I was there for 1 reason.. The TMNT issue.

Apparently, Absolute Comics didn't bring it in. So we grabbed a few others & collected my MKX comics..

Issues 4, 5 and the Issue 1 Subzero Black & White cover variant.

Great artwork.. That D'Vorah cover!

Next stop.. Invasion! Toys & Collectibles.. Again, not a very long queue, so we should be safe I thought.. But by the time, we reached the station, all the TMNT ones were taken already.. Damn!

But I found this..

1 sad, lonely piece waiting for me. Had to get it! Looks like the local stores were giving out some of their old stock away as a bonus! Good stuff!

One last stop.. Atom Comics.. They were already open for a few hours already so didn't have much hope for that TMNT issue..

No queue at all when we reached.. Looks like bad news.. All probably grabbed by now..

But....

There it was!

Planned to read it on the way home, but I haven't been catching up on the issues and there seems to be a bit of spoilers.. So, gonna keep this aside till the time comes. Must say, all that running around paid off in the end. Big thanks to Leon who followed me around as well..

A Street Fighter comic, Marvel's Secret Wars which is all the rage now.. Wondering if I should start that..

Also Inhuman with Joe Mad doing the art I believe. Been wanting to check this out too..

Great stuff! Cant believe I never knew about this all these years. Gonna be back for more next year!

Devil May Cry - A Blast from my Past...

Many years back, before I started indulging in story-driven games.. Before I thought plot-less games were a waste of my time..

I used to enjoy a certain series called Devil May Cry..

I played the first 2 games on my PS2.. and I was getting started on DMC3, just got too busy with other stuff and as my need for the PS3 increased, I gave up on the 3rd game and focused more on story-driven games. So when DMC4 came out, I didn't get it.

Now, many years later.. (Man, I feel old!) I have a sudden urge for the typical hack-and-slash action-adventure game. Been checking out games like God of War & Ninja Gaiden recently and been considering playing one of those games..

So, what a nice timing for the DMC 4 Special Edition to be released on the PS4 in June..

With new playable characters and more stuff added, I think this is a great buy even if you have played the original game. 

Been checking out the gameplay vids and it definitely is the kind of action that I miss from those days..

Definitely something to be playing as there's no other games that I will be getting in the months of June/July. Gonna be a bit rusty but looking forward to the challenge. I remember this game being a challenge as compared to a lot of games I have been playing recently..

Heard that there will not be a physical release for regions other than Asia.. But PlayAsia will be able to ship internationally if anyone is looking for a physical copy..

Evolve Challenge Weekend: Val Predator Challenge & Hunters' Quest - Hank Artic Challenge

The community hasn't been doing well, in regards to the Secondary challenges. We have always hit the Primary Goal but come out short in earning the full skin set. This one looks a bit easier so let's do this guys!

Things have become a bit tougher now..

The Top Tier of prizes used to be for the Top 1500 players.. it's now only for the Top 500.

Came dangerously close to dropping out of the Top 1500 last challenge so got to really buck up this weekend. Hank is my favourite Hunter so not going to miss this one. 

The Hank Skin for Evolve will be unlocked for the Top 3000 players but only the Top 500 will unlock the skin for the Mobile game as well.

Already started playing as soon as the Challenge started..

There was a stupid bug that made me lose points instead of gaining them so gotta play hard this weekend. 

I know my obsession for free skins can get a bit ridiculous but it's Hank!

Remember that tease that Project TriForce put up on their FB page a few days back..

Well it turned out to be A Sackboy Delsin Rowe!

What a disappointment! Was expecting a lot more from this line..

Hopefully, their license do allow them to cover the real version of Delsin Rowe and we might see that next..
