My Top 5 - Most Anticipated Games of 2018!

A quarter of the year has already passed, with no new releases purchased yet. Yet is the keyword.. With some amazing games coming out this year, here's my Top 5 Most Anticipated Games of 2018!

In no particular order..

Far Cry 5

Just released of course..  This was a day one purchase for me until..

They announced Bloodborne for PS Plus. Had to play that while the community is getting back into that.

Still, very hyped for this and will get it in a few months. Definitely feeling majorly left out while everyone is playing this but hopefully I can get this for a deal later this year.

Seems like a very controversial theme though, especially with the US political climate, but let's hope nothing negative comes out of this. It's just a game, eh guys?

Red Dead Redemption 2

I know I said, in no particular order, but this one will have to be top of the list for me. Anytime Rockstar Games produces a game, it will no doubt me a masterpiece and the first game was easily one of the best PS3 games ever.

I am a little concerned about how they are going to monetize the Online aspect of the game, just like how they are doing it with GTA Online.. But if they continue making such amazing games, there will be nothing much to complain about.

Very, very hyped for this and possibly enough reason to call in sick at work when this releases!

Overkill's The Walking Dead

Probably not on everyone's list but this is something I'm quite excited about. Payday 2's developers are working closely with Robert Kirkman on this.

While the concept of 4-player coop set in a post-apocalyptic world, with zombies, isn't the most unique idea.. I was hooked on Payday 2's replayability. The plot of this heist shooter wasn't really their biggest strength but this is where Robert Kirkman is going to put his creativity to good work!

Let them convince you if I'm not doing a good job..

It's not a guaranteed hit but if it's good, I'm hoping to spend hours on this, with friends.. Something I didn't manage to do with Payday 2.

God of War

A few years ago, if you had told me that a new God of War game was releasing, I wouldn't have been excited at all. In fact, that was what happened..

After completing God of War 3, I was pretty much done with the series. The game-play action was amazing, visually stunning.. probably one of the most fun action games of that generation but.. the plot did not engage me at all. To me, Kratos was just a madman on the loose, killing everyone in sight, with no good reason at all.

Or maybe, killing Zeus was the ultimate trophy and nothing else could have beat that.

As much as I enjoyed the games, I kinda had series-fatigue after that GoW 3's ending. So much so that I still have God of War Ascension untouched..

So, I was skeptical when the new God of War was rumoured, but moving over to the Norse mythology brought something refreshing to the series. Take out all that anger and making him a father figure was something that resonated with me.

The series has been revamped so much but yet, from the looks of the trailer, has kept that brutal hack-and-slash combat style.

No doubt it was too soon to be done with this series.. because when that E3 announcement reveal came, I let out a victory shout..

Of course, this is high up my anticipated games of 2018 list now. Can't wait for this! 20 April can't come soon enough!

Darksiders 3

Is this still coming out in 2018? I hope it is.. It's been way too long a wait for the 3rd installment of this very under-appreciated game. We haven't seen anything since the first trailer so I'm a little concerned.

However, in all honesty, I'm just very thankful that we are even waiting for it to be released.. After the fall of THQ, the license went into limbo. I was already resigned to the fact that Darksiders was done for but here we are in 2018, eagerly awaiting its release!

Read about how the developers of Darksiders 3, Gunfire Games formed.

It seems like, more than us, they are fans of the series, and how they have stuck through so many obstacles to revive the Darksiders franchise, makes me really want this to succeed. Darksiders is something I'm really passionate about so while I'm definitely getting this, I hope it does really well in sales.

Worthy Mention: Marvel's Spider-Man

For the life of me, I can't believe how this became a PS4 exclusive.. I mean.. I don't want to diss the XBox but this is a major coup for the Sony console.

Of course, the Spider-Man license being owned by Sony must have played a big part but still..

One of Marvel Entertainment's first forays into the gaming industry, this looks pretty amazing from the early reveals.

Another one that I'm not so sure is coming out in 2018 though..

With that, I conclude my 5 Most Anticipated games of 2018.. What do you guys think? Are you with me on the list? Share with me your list in the comments below!
