World Box reveals variant Sub Zero 1/6 Figure

World Box started off the 1/6 Mortal Kombat 9 line with the Sub-Zero figure a while back.. However, just 3 figures into the line, they have now revealed a variant figure for the previously released one. named Sub-Zero (Brother).

Not very obvious, to be honest, but there are subtle differences in the new figure (on the right).

Take a look at the close-up pics..

You can see the mud splatter on some of his clothes and a ice effect on certain parts. The eye scar evident on this figure confirms it to be Kuai Liang, the younger Sub-Zero. Which is actually very cool (Pardon the pun!). Not many figure companies have actually made 2 Sub-Zero figures that represent the brothers.

That's 1 reason for having to own both!

However, that alone isn't going to convince collectors to get a 2nd Sub-Zero figure so here's some more cool stuff!

A frozen Kung Lao head! That is just sick! One of the main features of the World Box's 1/6 figure line is the inclusion of Fatality accesories, which are incredible!

Another reason to own this Sub-Zero figure even if you have the original.

If you missed the first one and can only choose either, this should definitely be the better option, showing off Sub-Zero's ice powers.

Here's a reference of the original Sub-Zero's accessories.

Come to think of it.. not 100% better. How could you miss out the Spine Rip fatality??!!

I was a little skeptical about the "variant" figure but looks like they have convinced me, regarding the Brother that I should get both.

For upcoming figures, I would prefer to see new characters rather than "variants" but I would love to see 'accessory packs' where they give us more accessories to use with our current figures.

It's taking a long while for World Box to churn out these figures but I'm hoping that we aren't reaching the end anytime soon.

It's a good time to be a Mortal Kombat fan! Figures, Statues, DLC & More!

I think I have said it more than a couple of times already.. There is no better time to be a Mortal Kombat fan that right now.

But I have to keep saying it.. because things keep getting better and better!

And it all comes down to the huge success of Mortal Kombat X.. MK9 rebooted the franchise and was several notches better than any other Mortal Kombat game..

But MKX followed up with an even bigger game, with character variations, brutalities & lots of new stuff. This week saw the release of the 4th and final DLC character from the Kombat Pack..

Kombat Pack? I think I mean Kombat Pack 1..

Yes folks, according to GameRant.. in one of NetherRealm Studios' livestream, they referred to the Kombat Pack as 'Kombat Pack 1'. There can't be a more obvious hint for a Kombat Pack 2, if you ask me..

So, more characters? There's plenty of calls for characters like Rain Fujin who did appear in the story mode. And maybe it's time for Spawn to join the Kombat and make Mr Todd McFarlane very happy..

There's also rumours of Klassic Arenas making it to MKX.. and high chance of more skins being added to the mix..

The Comics are doing well too.. I still haven't heard any news about a second season or an extension of the 12 comics, hopefully soon..

The series started off very well and got a bit slow in the middle but the last few issues are amazing.. building up to a chaotic ending probably..

Mortal Kombat Mobile is still going strong, with the 2nd Challenge card, Liu Kang..

More challenge towers..

and 2 new card packs..

The weekly Faction War leaderboards keep players addicted to the game for bigger and better rewards and there's more content promised in the coming weeks and the best thing is.. everything's free!

And there's more!

Mezco Toys, World Box and Pop Culture Shock Collectibles are all making Mortal Kombat figures of different sizes..

In fact, PCS Collectibles just confirmed plans for a 1/4 scale Tremor!!

Awesome news! Impressed by his look in the game.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting to hear a 'yes' to that question but Tremor has a strong following even though this is the first time he's appearing as a fully playable character.. Check out the history of Tremor.

This one's gonna look real good in statue form..

That's not all.. We have a new contender in the mix..

Storm Collectibles previewed some prototypes for their Mortal Kombat Klassic 1/12 line

These look amazing! Gonna compete with Mezco Toys I guess, seeing there was news that Mezco Toys were making 1/12 Klassic figures as well.

Update from their Facebook page is that these prototypes are only 50% done, so I'm looking forward to the final product!

Definitely a wonderful time to be a Mortal Kombat fan! Let's see what else they come up with..

World Box - Scorpion 1/6 Figure Revealed

And finally the 3rd figure in this line is revealed..

Looking good, though I think the head is a bit too mohawkish..

Nice skull head accessory as well! A real pity they didn't add a Sub-Zero fatality head accessory as well. I'm sure that would have been a favourite among us collectors.

A cool line but they have been very slow with their releases. So far, it's been a 1pc/year release. Thought that this line could have been doing a lot better especially with the popularity of Mortal Kombat now..

This is stated for a 4th Quarter 2015 release, but we will probably only see it early next year.

If I remember correctly, the only other figure that was planned was a Jade. Looking forward to that and hopefully they continue making more. MK 9 had some really cool designs that they could work with. No idea if they have the license for MK X though..

Anyway.. I just realise I haven't gotten pics of my Sub-Zero and Kung Lao figures yet..

Kung Lao 1/6 Figure from World Box Revealed!

More Reason to believe that Mortal Kombat 10 is coming!

World Box just revealed their next figure in their 1/6 Mortal Kombat line after SubZero..

Kung Lao!

Not too sure about the resemblance but that will do.

The highlight of these figures are the accessories though and the various fatality and fighting poses you can do with them.

I'm still a bit afraid of how durable these figures are, or will be.. if I decide to keep stressing the joints to do plenty of action shots. It looks great fun though. You can see the shots above to see what some of the possibilities are.

Anyone has the SubZero figure and care to comment on the durability?

I have yet to get the SubZero figure because of this but recently I asked Jerry from PopCultureShock if they are going to do 1/6 Scale Mortal Kombat figures and his answer was..

I'm not saying that whatever Jerry says, has to be 100% correct but you got to respect the experience the man has..

But, that's a Thumbs-up from Jerry so I'm a little more confident on getting these.

Great to see World Box doing someone else other than Scorpion, even though I'm a big fan of Scorpion.
