Assassin's Creed Statues from PureArts

PureArts? Who are they? New statues?

Actually not really.. Most of us AC collectors would know who they are but I'm sure there are quite a number of people out there who own several of their statues but have never heard of them.

What about UbiCollectibles? That ring a bell? Yea.. PureArts are actually the company behind the brand, UbiCollectibles. I'm not exactly sure how the whole agreement works but PureArts produces the Collector Edition statues and Ubisoft sells them under the UbiCollectibles brand. Just check under the base of your statues. You should be able to see the PureArts logo on most of the statues. (Sorry I can't remember if all of them have it).

Anyway, let's get to the figures..

More pics of the Altair statuette have been revealed..

Looks great! Pre-orders are already up at the U-Play store or Ubishop, whatever you want to call it.

Then... you guys remember this statue?

I got this directly from PlayArts the other time and I just got some info that they have a very very limited run of 100 pieces for a Bronze version of this same statue. I'm not exactly sure of the cost and unfortunately they can't provide pics of it as well.

Personally, I'm not a fan of mono-coloured or unpainted statues.. but for those who are interested, do drop them a mail.

More pics of my statue here for you to appreciate the great sculpt for your consideration!

McFarlane Assassin's Creed Figures Series 2 & 3 confirmed!

Alright.. I got a long list of Assassin's Creed figures to update you guys so enjoy or bear with me, whichever side you are on.. It will be separated into several posts so check back soon.

There's going to be plenty of AC figures coming out this year so I'm pretty excited. I enjoy the games a lot but it's the merchandising that has brought this franchise to another level of awesomeness for me.

Let's get to it..

Series 2 will feature just 3 figures
- Aveline
- Adewale
- Connor with Mohawk

These are some of the pics taken of prototypes at ToyFair 2014 earlier this year. You check out the full range of pics here. (Pics courtesy of Toynewsi.com and Toyark.com)

Series 2 figures will come with unlockable content for AC Initiates - exclusive Avatars, Badges, early access to Missions & more.

Series 3 will add another 5 figures to the collection, while satisfying long-time fans of the series with
- Altair (Woohoo!)
- Ezio (AC Revelations - Ornate, Dark Grey Robes)
- Edward Kenway (Mayan Outfit)
- Ah Tabai
- Secret Assassin (Possibly AC Unity's Protagonist Assassin)

Prototypes of 2 of these were shown at ToyFair 2014 as well. More pics here! (Pics courtesy of Toynewsi.com and Toyark.com)

No details on what content these figures will include, but I can imagine that some will be for AC Unity.

However, it seems like my over-enthusiasm for all Assassins to be featured in Multiplayer might be wrong.. Oh well..

Anyway, I can't wait for the whole lot of these to complete the Assassin line-up from all the games. It's going to look sick!

New house.. Busy Busy!

Hmmm,, It's been almost a week since I posted anything.. Been so busy with my new house stuff. Shopping for household electronics, meeting renovation contractors, checking for defects at new house etc etc.. It's been so tiring and I haven't had proper sleep over the past week.

It's fun though, planning the layout, choosing colours. Changing your decisions every now and then is stressful but enjoyable knowing that you have looked at all the possibilities - so no regrets in the future..

Anyway, enough with the personal crap.. Apart from all the personal excitement, I'm also looking forward to another thing that I have been dreaming about for the past 3 years..

My very own Man-Cave! Gaming Room! Collectible Room! Whatever you wanna call it..

I will finally have my very own room to display all my collectibles and for my gaming setup!

My display cabinet is already packed.. I don't think I can squeeze anything else in at the moment so will need more display cabinets.

It's a lot more packed that what you see here..
The dream is to have fully customized display cabinets to display everything in my collection, the way I want it to be displayed so hopefully that will be done some day.

Money and Space are the 2 hindrances for every collector. I have the Space now, just need the Money now.

One day perhaps, but for now.. I'm happy with the Space I have. Ikea, here I come!

Please let it be Mortal Kombat 10..

So have you heard the news?

Ed Boon seems to be counting down to something.. and the countdown seems to be for June 2, which is just a week or so before E3 2014..

A possible announcement for something? Mortal Kombat 10? Injustice 2? Something else?

I'm really hoping it's MK 10 though

It has been a long wait for the next game, especially with the Shinnok Teaser at the end of the story mode.

Finally, the Netherrealm will be in the forefront. Always felt that this was the coolest of the realms, with all their sorcery powers.

I enjoyed the story mode in MK9 so definitely looking forward to more of the same.

What if it's Injustice 2? Injustice 1 was enjoyable but I want to see a MK10 before all else.

Don't disappoint me Ed Boon!

My First Impressions of Evolve after the Trial - Part 2

Continued from here..

Playing as the Goliath wasn't exactly what I thought..
It is said that as Goliath.. you're the monster and the Boss of the game. But it isn't as easy as picking up the controller and smashing the buttons to victory.

Sure, you are a beast and you have various abilities to send the Hunters scampering.. but it's not going to be easy against experienced Hunters. With 4 well-coordinated Hunters attacking from all angles, you are going to go down fast.

But nothing to worry about, the name of the game is Evolve and that's what your goal as the Monster is.. Evolve!

You start of as a Stage 1 Monster and have to eat some of the other creatures to fill up a meter. It's not going to be easy though.. At Stage 1, some of these creatures are as big as you and taking them down can get messy. Even more so, if you get caught by the Hunters. Once the meter is full, you will have the option to Evolve into the next Stage. You have to be careful where and when you decide to start the Evolving process. It will take a while for this process which will be your most vulnerable state.

Once you have Evolved into the next Stage, you become bigger and get to unlock more abilities or level up your current ones that you have chosen before.

At Stage 2, you feel more of a Boss and can be more of a threat to the Hunters. Less experienced Hunters are going to find you a huge problem. Still, your aim will be to reach the Ultimate Stage 3 where you at your strongest. One of the 2K Staff also told me that this is when the roles can be reversed.

He went on to explain that only at Stage 3, can your Monster take out the Generator in the map. This is when you, as the Monster go for the target and the Hunters will fight to defend it. At the Generator, it becomes their 'home turf', where they can set up traps to weaken you. However, at Stage 3, you should be at the peak of your powers.

It's going to be an interesting game with the 2 sides having very different play-styles.

As Hunters, you will need the whole team to co-ordinate and work closely together. It's almost a must for players to have mics to shout out commands and listening to the others. All Hunters will need to close down the Monster as quickly as possible to not give it the advantage. You will need to use the various skills at your disposal, as a team, to help one another.

I liked the fact that each class has their own fixed set of skills to force the different classes to play how they are supposed to, while making the best use of their abilities. You do get Perks to increase damage, increase damage resistance or health regeneration but it's not a RPG-style of a game where you can customize your weapons or skills.

As The Monster, you will need to be tactical. You will need to use the terrain to your fullest advantage and put the distance between you and the Hunters, to buy you the time to feed which will let you Evolve. While the Hunters are in First-Person View, you will play in the Third Person View as the Monster to give you a better look at the surroundings.

Also, you will have to avoid the traps laid out to avoid giving away your position. Use Sniff to see who's around you. Creatures or Hunters near you will be highlighted and you track their movement even behind obstacles.

Go into Stealth mode to creep around so that you stop leaving footprints on the ground.

If you are forced into a fight, you have 3 damage-based abilities that you can choose from, Flame Breath, Leap Smash and Rock Throw.

There were a couple of tricks that I picked up from several of the 2K Asia staff but I won't be sharing those here. Let's just say, I'll be using those to give myself an advantage during the first few sessions when the game is out.

It's going to be a fun game with Hunters and Monsters trying to outdo each other and with friends, I can imagine there's going to be plenty of laughter and trash-talking long after we put down the controllers. From what I have seen so far, the game seems well-balanced and equally-skilled players are going to create some epic battles.

There's no sign or hint of a Collector's Edition but I get the feeling that a CE with a Goliath statuette will sell very well. *Hint Hint*

We got the model, now to scale it down..
I mentioned that I attended the event with a couple of friends.. Let's see what they had to say about the game..

Jerome: The Event's awesome, got to meet friends and interact with people. I enjoyed the event. Being a Hunter, you will need the whole team, but as the Monster, you will need to strategize.

Abhi: I felt the game is balanced. I thought it is great that all classes are balanced.

Lukhman: I think the game is great, it promotes teamwork. The learning curve is steep but that's great. Teamwork is crucial.

Thanks guys!

To answer a few questions from other friends who asked me about the game..

The setting is based in a Jungle with Cliffs, Trees and things like that. Somewhere in the center is a huge Power Plant type of building that houses the Generator. There will be more maps and arenas so the setting might be different in those.

There was no mention of the background story of the game but I read somewhere that the game is set on a different planet and these are Alien Monsters.

There will be more game modes but the staff weren't giving any clues of what those will be. Single player story mode? 8 Hunters vs. 2 Monsters? 2 Teams of 4 Hunters racing against each other to hunt down 1 Monster? We'll see..

I was really impressed with the game. Before trying it out, I was pretty set on playing as the Monster but it was really fun playing as a group of Hunters. Might play as the Monster when I'm alone or as a Hunter when I'm with friends.

Evolve is one of the few new IPs that I'm looking forward to in the new-Gen consoles. In fact, I'm planning to get it earlier now that I have another reason to upgrade to a PS4.

GTA V DLC to feature Aliens?

Some time back, a fellow Crew Member posted about some Alien DLC in our Crew's Whatsapp Group. So when I asked him more about it, he told that it's true and that sources on the internet have already found about a certain 'Hangar 13 DLC'.

One of the articles that popped up when I Googled 'Hangar 13 DLC' claims that 'Rockstar and Take Two Interactive has filed a trademark for a property entitled Hangar 13'.

There's already Aliens in GTA V's mini-games when you go into a drug-induced state..

Pic Source: GTA Wiki
So it sounds pretty legit. Will we see Zombies? After doing Zombies in Red Dead Redemption, I doubt Rockstar will want to visit the Zombie theme again so soon. We will have to wait for an official statement on that..

Meanwhile.. the High Life update should be coming very soon..

Apart from the usual additions; new Wardrobe Items, Vehicles, Weapons, a very important feature will be coming for the rich folks of Los Santos. The ability to own 2 Properties at the same time, allowing for more Garage space. Yeaahhh!!

It will still not be enough for some but it's still a great addition for now.

And there will be a new Mental State player statistic to see how sane or insane your fellow players are. I'm looking forward to check out my Crew Members' stats on this. I have a feeling that it's going to be alarming to say the least.

Still no official date on Heists other than 'it's coming'. I have a gut feeling that the delay has something to do with the PC Release of the game. There's no official word about GTA V coming to PC but oh come on.. do you really think Rockstar will pass on the PC players?

Maybe they are making sure the PC release will be ready before Heists comes out? I'm thinking that putting out the PC release with Heists will definitely boost the interest in it.

Either way, hope to see some content pretty soon.. It's been a while..

AC Unity to feature All the Assassins we know?

Ok.. this isn't a leak or rumour that I read online.. It's coming out of my own weird imagination.. It could be the craziest thing you ever heard, or... you could be proclaiming me as the Greatest Genius of all time.

Alright, enough yapping.. Let's go in with it. It may be a crazy idea but that's what my blog is for.. To share my crazy ideas..

Ok, you probably know by now that AC Unity is going to feature co-op multiplayer right? Ok great! Now you also saw the McFarlane Toys' Assassin's Creed Series 3 figures right? What about the earlier sneak of Series 2 and Series 3 at ToyFair 2014?

You keeping up with me? That's 3 articles that you should have checked out, if you haven't.. Now, what if the timing of the figures is more than just a marketing strategy? All these McFarlane figures are going to come with a DLC code to unlock some content for, presumably, AC Unity. Wait for it...

Now.. what if the unlockable content are skins for AC Unity's multiplayer? Skins of each and every Assassin that we know from the various games?

Let's see the list and the figures that will be in the upcoming Series 2 and 3.
AC 1 - Altair..check
AC 2, Brotherhood, Revelations - Ezio..check
AC 3 - Connor.. check
AC Liberation - Aveline.. check
AC 4 - Edward Kenway.. check
AC 4 Freedom Cry - Adewale.. check

That's all the main Assassins from the games..

AC Unity's multiplayer will feature a campaign co-op mode. It's still unclear if we will be playing as Assassins or Templars or maybe even some other faction. But I have been rooting for multiplayer to feature the Assassins if you read this post. Sure, the campaign will feature characters suited for the campaign but there's nothing wrong in providing customizable skins for fans to play as their favourite Assassins, right?

Logically, these Assassins would never have fought together but for Fan Appreciation, why not? Imagine Connor and Edward Kenway fighting side-by-side or Adewale and Aveline.

The figures are slated for a August and October release so that's just before the usual annual Assassin's Creed release. Could be a good marketing strategy to entice people to get AC Unity early for the Multiplayer.

It's a far-fetched idea I know. As much as it's a dream, it's still a possibility. Either way, remember you first heard it here!

What do you think? Sounds possible? Crazy? Great idea? Nonsense? Let me know in the comments below!
